What are wrinkles?
The formation of wrinkles is a natural and biological process. The older we grow, the more our skin ages. Our skin gets its firmness and suppleness because specialized cells in the skin are capable of producing collagen and elastin fibers. During the aging process our body is continuously less capable of maintaining this mechanism. Therefore our skin loses its elasticity and firmness and also becomes thinner.
So wrinkles are developing because of the loss of collagen and elastin fibers under the influence of aging, smoking, UV-light and dehydration. Other factors are gravity that pulls our skin downwards and makes it weaker and the movement of our facial muscles: every time we talk, laugh, frown, cry, concentrate etc. wrinkles are formed in our face. Eventually these wrinkles also show when our facial muscles are in rest.

Possibilities
Injection of a natural or synthetic dermal filler will:
  • reduce the visibility of wrinkles
  • accentuate the outline of your lips (giving them a lush appearance)
  • improve gaunt parts of your face
  • reduce the amount of subcutanious fat in the face and in certain parts of the body

    Location:

All treatments are carried out in an informal atmosphere in an old canal side house in a treatment room specifically outfitted for this purpose (click here for a picture of the treatment room). Naturally all necessary (sterile) professional materials and instruments are available on-site.

Consultations are possible Monday through Thursday evening between 13:00 and 21:00. Friday afternoons between 13:00 and 18:00 are also available as well as occasionally in the weekends.

    Procedure:
During the initial consultation your desires and concerns are discussed, and you are presented with possible treatments that can fill your needs. Both the possible end result and the materials that will be used are discussed. You are given a realistic estimate of the end result, and the time it will take for the effects to fully manifest.
You will also be given an estimate of how long the effects of the procedure will last, and any possible side-effects.
To make sure you are not subject to any medical risks you'll complete a questionnaire regarding your physical health, and then you'll receive a brochure that details your proposed treatment.

    Treatment:
The treatment starts with a photograph. Then the part of your face that will be treated is disinfected and locally anesthesised if needed. The wrinkle or lip will then be filled. This will be done with the utmost care and restraint, to prevent overfilling. This restraint might however mean that repeat treatment may be necessary, greatly reducing the chances of unwanted results.

    Precautions:
24 hours before treatment do not take aspirin or any type of blood thinner. This includes alcohol: don't drink more than two glasses of alcohol the day before treatment.
For two days after treatment it's important to avoid topical pressure, strong use of mimic muscles and alcohol. It's also advisable to avoid strong UV-light (direct sunlight or UV-lamps) and strenuous activities that will result in heavy perspiration.

    Methods and materials:
We employ four methods of treatment: (click on the subject for more information)

  • dermal fillers
Used to restore volume and fullness to your skin, improve deep facial wrinkles and creases. They are also used to make lips fuller.
  • botox
Some wrinkles are formed by the constant contraction of facial muscles. Botox will reduce this (f.i. the frown between your eyebrows or the crow's feet next to your eyes).
  • mesolift
This is an agent that will improve the metabolism of your facial skin (but it can also be applied to chest or hands), It will tighten the skin and result in an improved appearance.
  • lipolysis
is a way to eliminate a surplus of fatty tissue under the skin of jaw line or body without surgery.
