Which wrinkle treatment?

Wrinkles exist in many forms: small wrinkles, large wrinkles, superficial wrinkles and deep wrinkles. The place where they occur is always different: on the forehead between the eyebrows, beside the eyes (crows feet), between nose and mouth (nasal-labial fold) and around the mouth (the vertical folds).

For treating wrinkles, it is possible to use various techniques, depending on the location and the objective to be achieved. In general, all wrinkles and folds over and around the eyes show the best results from treatment with Botox. The other sites are treated with various types of fillers.

We distinguish thus:

Botox

With Botox^® wrinkle is reduced because the muscles just under the skin which cause wrinkles, less work. This is not the wrinkle in the skin or less strongly drawn. You can imagine then that the natural elasticity of the skin that slowly flattens wrinkles. At some point you notice that the wrinkles in the skin you pull back and that is the time for a repeat treatment. If you have good time starts prevents early deep folds and thus difficult to be fading.

Fillers

A wrinkle can be filled in by the skin to inject a substance that causes the ripple is less deep. We are taking the choice of materials within a few months back through the broken body (temporary fillers) and substances which are included only very slowly (semi-permanent fillers). short-term effect (less than 1 years)

Substances which give effect to a maximum 1 years are particularly suitable for the sensitive parts of the face, such as the lips and the more superficial wrinkles.

Effect of up to 6 months.

Technique: Teosyal Fine Lines^®
Substances which give an effect of several months are generally cheaper than the longer-acting products. For some, that a good argument for a first substance with a short term effect to injection to assess the result. If you're satisfied you can proceed to the next time a longer acting compound. Would you not be satisfied then you can be sure that after a few months back in your face the situation for the injections will come.

Effect up to 1 years

Technique: Teosyal Global Action^® 

The substances in this group are especially suitable for parts of the face where a flexible filler is required, as in the lips, the more superficial wrinkles and possibly in addition to Botox in a very deep frown wrinkles.

semi-permanent effect (1 to 2 years)

Technique: Radiesse^®  / Sculptra^®  / Teosyal Deep^® / Juvéderm 4^® / Juvéderm Voluma

Semi Permanent fillers can be applied in the same place as the permanent fillers so can fill cheeks, nasal labial fold reduction, strengthen jaw line, but the lips as a whole give a fuller respect (only Teosyal).

permanent effect (more than 2 years)

Today from time to time there are still debates about the pros and cons of permanent fillers. There is a clear understanding now to reject the use of permanent fillers and to favour with semi-permanent fillers. This principle was endorsed by our government (the issued RIVM-rapport is only in dutch). The advantage of using the semi-permanent fillers is that any supplementary therapy can make corrections based on what your face needs at that time. Also you can always continue to use the latest state of technology and materials.

Rimpelconsult Amsterdam has therefore decided not to work with permanent fillers since early 2006.
