Lips

In and around the lips the only safe and effective treatment is to use fillers based upon hyaluronic acid, like Teosyal or Juvederm. Other products (Botox, Radiesse and Sculptra) are not possible because of their specific properties that will not give a natural result.

The wishes of our customers can be divided in two categories.

The younger clients who simply wants to enhance their natural contours and sometimes increasing the volume of their lips. The treatment of first choice if you want to accentuate your lips, is to inject a filler around the border of the lip, the so-called vermillion border augmentation. Mostly this is done only in the upper lip, but of course the lower lip can be treated as well. This is almost always the first step in a lip treatment. After the treatment we make a second appointment to evaluate the vermillion border results and if necessary we can go a step further. To create a natural and attractive looking lip augmentation we inject the filler then into the red part of the lip. The effect is that a larger part of your lip becomes visible (it curls a bit outwards) and that is associated with attractive lips.

The older clients. As we get older the lips naturally become thinner, the cupid’s bow flattens, the corners of the mouth start to turn downwards and vertical lines appear which radiate outwards from the mouth. These vertical wrinkles are mostly the reason for a visit to the cosmetic clinic. The kind of treatment you will need is in general a combination of the techniques described above and the direct filling of the deepest vertical lines. Which combination you will need can best be discussed with your cosmetic doctor.
